Save Water,
Give Water

Today, 785 million people across the globe – that’s 1 in 9 – do not have access to safe water at home. And 2 billion people – 1 in 3 – do not have access to a toilet.  The water crisis has a negative impact on the health and livelihood of more than a third of the world’s population. If we do not take action, sooner or later we too will be left struggling.

Change, together with Water.org

Together with the global organization Water.org, Ekopak wants to tackle the difficulties in gaining access to water. Ekopak helps its customers meet the strict requirements that are increasingly being set in the area of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).

Women fill jars with water from the river.

Concretely, Ekopak supports Water.org to change people’s lives in water-scarce areas by giving them easier access to safe water. To this end, Ekopak makes its customers the following offer: for each employee of its customers, Ekopak helps one family in the South get a water supply. Customers can join this offer and contribute even further to make more families eligible.

For millions of women, children, and communities, access to safe water can turn problems into opportunities – an important step towards better education, economic opportunities, and health for all.

A life-changing step

To meet this challenge, Ekopak has partnered up with Water.org, a global non-profit organization that works to promote water and sanitation around the world. The organization helps people gain access to safe water and sanitation through affordable financing, such as small loans. This is a life-changing step that gives women hope, allows children to grow up healthily, and ensures families have a bright future ahead of them.

For 30 years now, Water.org’s mission has been to bring water and sanitation to the world. Founded by Gary White and Matt Damon, the organization develops innovative financial solutions to tackle the global water crisis.

Sustainable business

ESG has everything to do with three central factors: Environmental, Social and Governance. Originally, the term was derived from the ‘Triple Bottom Line’, known from the widely used ‘People, Planet and Profit’ (PPP) a few years ago.
