Update fire HQ Ekopak

PRESS RELEASE

Today at approximately 2:45 p.m., a small fire broke out in the chemistry warehouse at the Ekopak site in Deinze.

The building was evacuated. The evacuation of staff proceeded smoothly, and all employees have left the site.

During the fire department’s assessment, the source of the fire was located near a drum containing a chemical product in a storage area. The fire was extinguished shortly after 3:00 p.m. The situation is under control, but because hazardous substances are stored in the area, the fire department is proceeding with caution as they continue to manage the situation. A hazardous materials consultant is also on site. The fire has had no impact on the surrounding area, and damage within the company is very limited.
