The year 2024 at Ekopak

As 2024 approaches its end, we proudly reflect on everything we achieved together this year. Ready to explore the highlights?

Switching the industry to sustainable water

In 2024, Ekopak made significant contributions to several industrial projects. For example, we provided a complete water treatment installation, including green energy, for FrieslandCampina in Indonesia, and implemented an innovative water treatment installation at Top Bronnen in Belgium, where we built a CCRO (Closed-Circuit Reverse Osmosis) system for the first time.

Additionally, we finished the installation at NX Filtration and signed an agreement with ArcelorMittal to improve the water treatment process at their plant in Ghent, under the Water-as-a-Service (WaaS®) model.

Of course, we also worked on many other projects. More info on our projects can be found on this page.

Integrated annual report

This year, we published our second integrated annual report, in which we take a closer look at how Ekopak creates financial, social, and environmental value. Want to learn more about the inner workings of Ekopak? Read our annual report.

Circeaulair® on the shirts of Soudal Quick-Step at the Tour de France

In 2024, the Circeaulair logo, an initiative by Ekopak and EPICo², was prominently displayed on the shirts of The Wolfpack during the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes. Circeaulair provides circular water to businesses and industrial parks. The logo was visible to millions of viewers worldwide, aiming to raise awareness about sustainable water management.

The E-Team in action

This year, we further strengthened our team spirit! True to tradition, we celebrated our staff party during Nokere Koerse. We showcased our athletic side during the Urbain Trail in Ghent and achieved a remarkable victory at the Teamtrophy in Deinze. Ekopak France expanded its expertise with a training on ion exchange resins at H2O Production. New challenges were embraced at Global Water & Energy during an exciting e-karting activity. Waterkracht® project in Antwerp

Ekopak made significant progress with the Waterkracht project, a world-first in circular water solutions. The project focuses on recycling municipal wastewater from Antwerp into cooling water for industrial use in the port.

After two years of preparation and successful pilot tests, permitting and constructing a state-of-the-art cooling water plant can begin. Annually, 20 billion liters of water will be recycled, equivalent to the water consumption of 600,000 inhabitants.

Expansion of international activities

Ekopak opened a new office in the Philippines this year. Due to strong growth, the previous location in Manila had become too small. With this expansion, we are strengthening our activities in Southeast Asia. Additionally, we expanded our presence in the U.S. with new projects in Arizona and Indiana. The Ekopak Group is positioning itself globally as a trusted partner in circular water solutions.

Third edition of the Ekopak Cycling Tour

In October, the third edition of the Ekopak Cycling Tour took place, bringing together customers, partners, and cycling fans. The challenging parcours ran through the Flemish Ardennes and gave participants the opportunity to cycle alongside riders from the Soudal Quick-Step Team. A highlight was the stop at Ekopak’s new headquarters in Deinze, including an exclusive tour. The proceeds from this edition went to the charity LignaVerda.

New headquarters in Deinze

In 2024, the construction of Ekopak’s new headquarters in Deinze made great progress, moving from the structural phase to the finishing phase. A key milestone this year was the opening of the warehouse in the new building. The office move is scheduled for February 2025, making the headquarters fully operational. This will serve as a central hub for all of Ekopak’s activities.

In 2024, Ekopak made great steps in circular water management, focusing on growth, innovations, and new collaborations. We look forward to what 2025 has in store.

We wish all our customers, partners, and employees a successful and inspiring new year!
