The project Waterkracht wins a Trends Impact Award

We are proud to announce that the project Waterkracht (power of water) won the Trends Impact Award in the Circular Economy category.

On November 30, the Trends Impact Awards took place, a new series of awards presented by Trends magazine to companies that create sustainable value. Waterkracht applied for the ‘Circular Economy’ category. After a deep-dive screening, 5 nominees were selected, yesterday Waterkracht walked away with the Award!

Waterkracht, an initiative to safeguard the security of water supply, is a collaboration between water-link, EKOPAK, PMV and Aquafin. The parties are joining forces to upgrade the treated wastewater from Antwerp households into cooling water for companies in the port of Antwerp by 2025.

With Waterkracht, we can save 20 billion liters of water a year. In this way we directly address water scarcity & drought by using circular water for the port.
