PROJECTS
Innovation in wastewater treatment with SUMO
The R&D team of Global Water & Energy, recently collaborated with the University of Antwerp to enhance our use of SUMO software for wastewater treatment process simulation. This powerful tool will help validate design parameters and operational data for our wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) and waste-to-energy (WTE) projects.
This results in an optimized design, more accurate predictions, and better process control and performance.

Ekopak secures contract with Agristo Masa, India
Ekopak will provide a complete water and wastewater treatment installation at Agristo India’s production site. The installation, featuring Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) technology, will ensure 100% wastewater reuse with no discharge.
“We are very excited about this new project with Agristo Masa. This project reinforces Ekopak’s position as a one-stop-shop for water and wastewater treatment and strengthens its global reputation as a trusted leader in sustainable water technology.” Pieter Loose, CEO Ekopak.

MOVIE TIP
‘Pee Water’ for 2050 movie
Did you catch the “Pee water” in the Belgian press last week? It was part of a promotional stunt for the movie 2050, and Ekopak was proud to be involved!
2050 is a Belgian documentary by Kristof Van Den Bergh and Eric Goens. To help promote the film, we were asked to create “pee water”—drinking water from recycled urine—which was then distributed at the avant-première in Antwerp.
2050 follows climate scientists at Princess Elisabeth Base in Antarctica while also revisiting the 1898 expedition of Belgian explorer Adrien de Gerlache. The film is playing in Belgian cinemas starting this week. Find out more.
